But how do you create the best build for your character? What skills and stats should you prioritize? How do you make the most of your classs unique abilities? In this article, we will give you some tips and tricks on how to make your Torchlight 2 build and share some of the best Torchlight 2 builds for each class.
Torchlight 2 Skill Trees and Stats
Before we dive into the specific builds, lets review some of the basics of Torchlight 2s skill system. Each class has three skill trees that are unique to them. They are:
Outlander: Warfare, Lore, Sigil
Embermage: Inferno, Frost, Storm
Engineer: Blitz, Construction, Aegis
Berserker: Hunter, Tundra, Shadow
Each skill tree has 7 active skills and 3 passive skills. Active skills are abilities that you can use in combat, such as spells, attacks, or buffs. Passive skills are bonuses that are always active, such as increased damage, defense, or speed.
To learn and level up skills, you need skill points. You get one skill point every time you level up. You can also get skill points from fame, which is earned by completing quests and killing enemies. The maximum level in Torchlight 2 is 100, which means you can get up to 100 skill points from leveling up and up to 55 skill points from fame.
You can spend your skill points on any skill tree you want, but you need to meet certain level requirements to unlock higher-tier skills. Each skill has three tiers that increase its effectiveness. To max out a skill, you need to spend 15 skill points on it (5 per tier).
Aside from skills, you also have stats that affect your characters attributes. There are four stats in Torchlight 2:
Strength: Increases all weapon damage and critical strike damage
Dexterity: Increases critical strike chance, dodge chance, and fumble recovery
Focus: Increases maximum mana, all elemental damage, and execute chance
Vitality: Increases maximum health, armor, and block chance
You get five stat points every time you level up. You can spend them on any stat you want, but some stats are more important for certain classes than others. For example, Outlanders rely on dexterity for their damage and survivability, while Embermages need focus for their mana and elemental damage.
